NEET Medicine 2026 Registration

Step by Step instructions to register and fill NEET 2026 application

The registration process for NEET 2026 is entirely online via the official NTA website (typically exams.nta.ac.in/NEET). The window is expected to open in February 2026.

Follow these steps to complete your application:

1

Online Registration & OTP Verification

This is the first New Registration step to create your account.

  • Visit the Portal: Click on "New Registration" on the official NTA site.
  • Enter Basic Info: You will need to provide your name, father’s/mother’s name (exactly as in Class 10 records), date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
  • Verification: An OTP will be sent to your mobile and email. Verify these to generate your Application Number.
  • Create Password: Choose a strong password and security question.
2

Filling the Application Form

Log in with your Application Number and password to complete the detailed form.

  • Personal Details: Gender, nationality, category (Gen/OBC/SC/ST), and PwD status.
  • Exam Preferences: Choose your Question Paper Medium (e.g., English, Hindi, or regional languages) and select two cities for your exam center in order of preference.
  • Academic Details: You must enter the school name, board, year of passing, and marks for Class 10, 11, and 12.
Note:
If you are appearing for Class 12 in 2026, select the "Appearing" status.
3

Document Upload (The Most Critical Step)

Payment of Application Fee

Your registration is not valid until the fee is successfully processed.

  • General: ₹1,700
  • Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL: ₹1,700
  • SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: ₹1,000
  • Outside India: ₹9,500
Payment Modes: Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, etc.).
5

Downloading the Confirmation Page

Once the payment is successful, a Confirmation Page will be generated.

  • Save it digitally: Do not mail a hard copy to the NTA.
  • Print it: Keep at least 3-4 copies. This is required during the counseling process and for physical verification later.
Warning: The NTA will open a "Correction Window" for 2–3 days in March, but some fields like your Mobile Number, Email, and Permanent Address cannot be changed. Fill these with extreme care.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
  1. Mismatched Applicant Details:
    • Name, Date of Birth, or Gender: Every letter and digit must exactly match your Class 10 Certificate.
    • Aadhaar Conflict: Ensure your Aadhaar card details match your school certificates now. If your Aadhaar has a spelling error or a different DOB, get it updated at an enrollment center before registration opens in February.
  2. Incorrect Category Selection:
    • Central vs. State List: Ensure your caste is in the Central List for OBC-NCL.
    • The Certificate Trap: You will need a category certificate issued after April 1, 2025. Using an old certificate can lead to your category being switched to "General" during counseling, which might lose you a seat.
  3. Wrong Qualifying Code:
    • Code 01: For students appearing for Class 12 in 2026.
    • Code 02: For students who have already passed Class 12 (Gap year students/Droppers).
    • Codes 03–07: Specific for B.Sc. students, Pre-degree, or those with international qualifications.
  4. Mobile & Email Dependency:
    • Don't use a Cyber Café’s email: Use a personal email ID and a mobile number that will remain active until December 2026.
    • All communication (OTP, Admit Card links, OMR challenge, and Result) will be sent only to these registered contacts. Changing them later is nearly impossible.
  5. Last-Minute Submission Panic:
    • The 10-Day Rule: Aim to finish your registration within the first 10 days of the portal opening.
    • Confirmation Page: Your registration is NOT complete until you download the "Confirmation Page." Simply paying the fee isn't enough; verify that the status says "Successful" and save that PDF.
